Grayson Stuart

My name is Grayson Stuart. I have been a member of the USAYESS and UTYESS program since I was at the ripe age of 8 years old. In my early childhood I tried many “traditional”
sports however, I couldn’t feel the passion and love for the sports that I originally hoped to find. Growing up I have been an avid outdoors-man including many hobbies such as,
hunting, four-wheeler rides, fly fishing and shed hunting.

When I was in the third grade my dad took me to the Magna Gun Club to a November turkey shoot where we met Jon Zinnel, (Founder of the youth shooting programs in Utah) We soon found out about a youth shooting team which at the time only had 8 people on it. When I heard about this team I knew it was the sport for me! That next week my family and I showed up to practice. As time progressed the Youth Shooting programs have shown nearly a 35% annual increase each year in competitors state wide over the course of 8 years. I have been extremely fortunate to have a very supportive family who has given me the opportunity to travel all around the country competing in numerous tournaments
year round. By the time I was 14 I realized that I wanted to be in a position that I
could be a part of the progress of growing the UTYESS program. It was at that time
Brian Beard, and I came up with the UTYESS Youth Committee. Being a competitive
shooter and also being a member of the youth committee, it has shown and taught
me many life skills that I will be able to carry into many years to come such as hard
work, dedication, integrity, passion and drive. I am most thankful for the amazing
team I have been given to work with inside UTYESS and can’t wait to see what the
future holds!!
